River Cruises


AmaWaterways - AmaWaterways offers specially-themed Wine Cruises featuring a wine specialist on board to lead tastings and excursions, all at no additional cost.  Each Wine Cruise is hosted by a qualified wine expert or vintner who usually brings hand-selected wines on board that are served during meals and at tastings.  On all its cruises, Ama offers a selection of complimentary local wines with lunch and dinner as well as sparkling wine with breakfast. Ama is unveiling its newest ship on the Douro River, the AmaDouro, in 2019, as well as the AmaMagna on the Danube.

Crystal Cruises - Crystal’s focus on food and wine is not limited to themed sailings - exquisite culinary options are offered on every cruise.  Its complimentary wine list includes an impressive variety of quality wines, and the Conoussier Wine List is every wine lover’s dream, with rare fine wine like Pétrus and Screaming Eagle.  It’s Vintage Room is a special space dedicated to their infamous wine pairing dinners that rival the best of the best on land. Cunard Line - Cunard regularly welcomes wine experts on board to enrich guests’ wine knowledge through tastings, lectures and wine dinners.  Cunard takes its food and wine pairings seriously by offering a “Wine Line” where guests can phone for pairing recommendations. You can even earn Wine and Spirit Education Trust accreditation in the Cunard Wine Academy on certain sailings.

Holland America Line - Wine expert James Suckling has been named Holland’s wine curator for its wine selections across the fleet.  This premium cruise line’s esteemed Culinary Council is comprised of celebrity chefs who oversee the cruise line’s restaurants and lead their Food and Beverage Aficionado Cruises where guests can attend wine tastings and cooking demonstrations.  


Oceania Cruises - Known for having the “finest cuisine at sea,” Oceania’s culinary program is overseen by the one and only Jacques Pépin.  It’s offerings include hands-on cooking classes with trips to the local market and exclusive winery excursions in renowned wine regions like Tuscany, Provence and Santorini. Oceania’s Marina and Riviera ships feature La Reserve by Wine Spectator, which offers not only wine seminars and vintage tastings but also gourmet dinners pairing fine wines with delectable courses. The exclusive Dom Perignon Experience is now available at La Reserve. This first of its kind dining experience pairs six courses with a different expression and vintage of Dom Perignon’s acclaimed cuvées.

Ponant Cruises - This boutique French cruise line offers, not surprisingly, incredible cuisine and a wonderful selection of fine wines.
